| HISTORICAL BACKGROUND | Abraham is 20 years old. He is a fourth born child in a family of 7. After he completed his primary education, due to financial constraints he was unable to proceed to secondary school. He joined an elder brother who stays at Kiambio, one of the informal settlements in Nairobi. It was here where one of the Undugu staff members spotted him and after an assessment he was referred to the Education and Training Programme.
At the unit, Abraham choose to do one year of training in dressmaking and training at Kariobangi market stall 47. He sat for a government grade test examination in December 2005 and passed.
| | CURRENT STATUS | After the examination, Abraham has been employed by various employers. Currently he works at Kariobangi Market stall no. 83. Through the wages he earns, Abraham has been able not only to look after himself but also assist his younger brothers and sisters. | | COMMENTS FROM ABRAHAM | He encourages Undugu to continue with the good work of assisting the marginalized people of the communities. |
