The Digital Storytelling Project seeks to empower marginalized children and youth in Kenya to self-advocate on issues affecting their lives and to recommend and lobby for solutions on these issues.

Participants in the project are trained how to write stories on issues affecting their communities, capture these stories through photography, video and audio, and post these stories on blogs. Stories shared through the blogs provide an avenue for children and youth to lobby for change locally while raising awareness about these issues globally.

In addition to providing the young people with a platform to voice their concerns, the project also enables them to acquire skills that may help to open up other opportunities and improve their quality of life. The ultimate goal of the Digital Storytelling Project is to create an effective Lobbying Forum for young people that can influence policy and create greater accountability on issues that affect children and youth in Kenya.
